I am a semi-retired Grandfather of 15. I have always worked with my hands and have had a life long interest in wood and nature. When I finally slowed down with work in 2021 I took up wood carving that led into woodburning. This became more of a passion as I began making birthday and Christmas presents for my grandkids and family.
Nowadays I spend some time burning almost daily and find it to be a peaceful time of meditation and getting my day in order. I did start this late in life but hope to have many more years of improving my current hobby into a true art.
Much of my work is taken from free images off of the internet. Many come from pictures I have taken in around our property or on outings. Most of my work I add color to using color pencils, acrylics, stains or water colors. I then finish pieces with 3 to 4 coats of polyurethane.
A few completed pieces . See more in my gallery past and present works.
